ABOUT THE PROJECT

Theater changes lives and enriches communities by providing opportunities for creative expression and social engagement.

And yet, while Long Island has a thriving amateur theater community, there are few opportunities for the 1.4 million residents of Suffolk County to engage with professional theater of the highest caliber without heading into New York City.

The goal of the Long Island Theater Project is to create active, social opportunities to engage with others through innovative, professional live theater of the highest caliber, without leaving the South Shore of Long Island.

And WE WANT YOU.

We are looking to meet and talk with South Shore residents who would like to share their opinions with us. We'd love to learn about your relationship with and interest in creative expression, why you go (or don't go!) to theater, and your thoughts on our community. This winter we'll be meeting and conducting interviews with local residents to discuss these topics. Or you can take our survey virtually by clicking the link in the menu at the top of the page.

So: take the survey, join our email list and become a part of the conversation! We will reach out with more information soon.

We look forward to speaking with you soon!
